Welcome to my website devoted to the Traverse City, Michigan "State Hospital". I created this website about
ten minutes ago, so expect it to be choppy and rough around the edges for a few weeks until I can get everything
ship-shape. Months down the line, I hope to have a brief history of the asylum, some pictures, a map, etc. Until
that time, I pretty much just have a bunch of undeveloped rolls of film and a huge hard-on for this place. Take a look
at some of the pictures below and tell me YOU don't. :)
A picture of the side of a warehouse at the northeastern corner of the grounds
An extreme closeup of one of the buildings (can't remember which)
A great shot of one of the buildings, as well as some trees
A photo of one of the building entrances. Rumor has it that the patients
weren't allowed outside at all, and were transported mainly through a complex series of interconnecting tunnels that
runs beneath all of the dozen plus buildings on the grounds of the Asylum. Having been in those tunnels, I find that a bit
unlikely... however, you can see that this was probably the most exposure to "the outdoors" as most of these people got.
Designed to be functional and to keep these crazies in, they nevertheless decided to throw some cutsie, pussy architecture in...
check out the top-right corner of the picture... the iron work above the chain link fence. NOTE: Whoever tagged all that
graffiti bullshit all over there needs to eat a dick. Show some respect, you little clits.
A nice night shot...
Yet another decent night shot...
An extremely intricate (for the time) gate. I believe that this was, at one point,
the exterior entrance to the garden of the Asylum, where I'm sure most of the less-crazy folk were allowed to run backward
through rows of corn.
A great show of "Building 50", seemingly the primary building of the grounds
Here's a great site to visit for more actual factual information on the Asylum (I'm only really interested in actually
exploring the grounds, inside the buildings, etc. Not much of a bookworm anymore, since I grew a big penis back in '92):
